WHY NAAS?
Network as a Service gives your team digital control over connectivity. With Lumen Intelligent Internet, you can adjust capacity through Lumen Connect or an API at eligible locations.
Plan extra capacity for a cloud migration, a large file transfer or a seasonal rush. Review the bandwidth your everyday work actually needs.
Manage and monitor connectivity in one digital experience. On an activated, eligible Fabric Port, changes can take minutes. New access installation takes longer.
Compare hourly flexibility with a monthly commitment. Build the budget around your actual workload, location and required uptime.
THINK ABOUT THE LIGHTS
Usually, you turn down what you don’t need. Your network deserves the same conversation: does it need peak capacity around the clock?
With a suitable NaaS plan, you can raise bandwidth for busy periods and lower it when demand eases. Keep enough capacity for backups, security, remote users and business-critical systems.
The billing difference: charges follow the bandwidth you provision and the time at that tier. They do not stop when traffic drops or people go home. Bandwidth changes must be made through the service. Port charges and monthly commitments continue.
AN ILLUSTRATIVE WORKDAY
Choose an overnight level that supports the work still running.
Illustration only. Your workload determines the right speeds.HOW YOU PAY
A Fabric Port gives you access to the platform. Its monthly price depends on port speed, term and location. Off-net access requires an address-specific quote.
Choose hourly bandwidth or a fixed monthly bandwidth commitment. A term plan can flex above its committed tier, with additional hourly charges. The base commitment remains payable.
Compare a base connection with temporary increases against committing to the higher speed all month. Both options include the same port.
Try 20 hours for an occasional transfer, 100 for a busy period, or 220 for 10 hours across 22 workdays.
Assumes three-year bandwidth and on-net 1 Gbps Fabric Port commitments. The port is $260/month in both options. Your base stays connected throughout the month.
BASE + TEMPORARY CAPACITY + PORT
$586.50Illustrative monthly cost

EXAMPLE 01 · OCCASIONAL LARGE TRANSFERS
If 100 Mbps covers everyday work, a business could select 500 Mbps for occasional large transfers, then return to its base.
Illustrative monthly cost: $255.50 base + $8.80 temporary capacity + $260 port = $524.30. Committing to 500 Mbps all month with the same port is $638.00.
EXAMPLE 02 · A BUSY PROJECT
A project needs more capacity for part of the month. The business selects 1 Gig during that period and returns to 100 Mbps afterward.
Illustrative monthly cost: $255.50 base + $71.00 temporary capacity + $260 port = $586.50, compared with $771.00 for a full-month 1 Gig commitment and the same port.
Calculation: base monthly charge + [higher-tier hourly rate − (base monthly charge ÷ 730), rounded to cents] × higher-speed hours + port. This follows the supplied August 2026 deck’s illustrative Flex Bandwidth method. 500 Mbps uses $0.79/hour; 1 Gig uses $1.06/hour before the base credit. Actual invoice rounding and rates require confirmation. Time at the higher tier is billed whether or not you use all its capacity. This calculator does not schedule or change your service.
A smaller base must still support your applications, backups, remote users and critical systems. If you need higher capacity for much of the month, a higher committed tier may cost less. All prices assume eligibility and three-year terms with early termination provisions. Off-net access requires an address-specific quote.
